Slam Jose! was founded in 2024 by Steve Wymer, Mauricio Mejia, John Poch and the team at the San Jose Sports Authority with the aspiration of becoming the most accessible and competitive basketball tournament for local youth, community members and organizations. Slam Jose! will attract hundreds of teams and thousands of visitors to downtown San Jose, driving economic activity via urban vibrancy and promoting community engagement around sports, art, music and food. Slam Jose! is a 501c3 non-profit community organization and proceeds benefit local community organizations.
